The Church You've Been Looking For

Today, while flipping through the Yellow Pages for the phone number of a neighboring church, my eyes were drawn to a unique listing which, in lieu of a denomination or other name, simply read: "The Church" You've Been Looking For... 545-598l."

You're right... I couldn't resist! But when I dialed the number, I only heard a recording saying, "We're sorry. You have reached a number that has been disconnected or is no longer in service."

Reverting to my "preacher's kid" role, I instantly looked for a moral in the situation. But all that I came up with was the intense hope that we, at our church, will stay interested enough...active enough...involved enough...committed enough, so that it will never be said about this church which many of us "had been looking for", that we are no longer in service.
